I probably should start doing this more regularly, but... you start to wonder sometimes. What's the point of keeping your weapons in shape if they don't even work like they should?
I've tried every trick in the damn book, and I can't get this thing to fire lethal rounds.
[A pause, a quiet, frustrated noise, and talons on metal.]
Considering it's a rifle, and I never loaded it with practice rounds? That's not good. I know this gun.
[He falls silent again. It's not just the rifle that's gotten his metaphorical boxers in a knot, even if he won't say so.]
[Tali has been silent for way too long.]
... this shouldn't be happening.

It's like they don't want us to be able to kill each other.
[Audio]
[Granted, it was a quarian, but still.]
We could find a way to do it. Without our weapons. I just don't like strange 'lords' messing with my rifle.
[Audio]
Oh, I know we can. Some of us still have weapons that can kill, but there are plenty of ways to kill people without conventional weapons.
Well, I don't like strange lords messing with my genetics, either.
[Audio]
[Like the talons on the end of every finger and toe.]
Your genetics?
[Audio]
Where I'm from, there's a mutant gene that gives us our powers.

[There's a brief pause as Jetfire actually considers this.]
I should probably examine what my own rifle can still do and if it's been changed in any way.
[Audio]
[But bites it back.]
Right. Because it's not like we might need to defend ourselves from the horror of the day around here.
[A pause.]
If it's anything like what happened to mine, you're stuck with nonlethal rounds and a significantly lower rate of fire.
[Audio]
[Completely unaware of Garrus' offense at the implication normal weapons are on the same level as... less than logical... "powers", Jetfire just vents a sigh, vocalizer briefly fuzzing out.]
My rifle isn't loaded with physical bullets, but photon plasma charges... I assume that either I'll not be able to slide the charge up to full, or it will simply not register... Hmn. I'll see in a few minutes.
[There's the distinct, if muffled, noise of metal on stone as Jetfire leaves where he'd been sitting for the outside.]
Since you would obviously have fired your rifle somewhere... is there any place that is sufficiently secure, regardless of weapon lethality?
[Audio]
[Luckily, the Collectors' weapons fired much the same. Charged laser fire. Otherwise, there would be half a dozen questions regarding that weapon.]
I've just been picking targets in the woods. It does the job, more or less.
[Audio -> video]
I see... Might not need to go that far...
[It hasn't taken him long to get to the edge of the green, but when putting down the journal to test his rifle, Jetfire manages to make a gesture enough to switch over to video. The angle is bad, and most of what Garrus gets to see is a metal arm and hand putting the journal down, and then an angled view of a white and red (metal, too) leg for a few moments accompanied by the whomping whine of several shots fired from... presumably... the rifle.
Then Jetfire comes back, frowning thoughtfully as he picks up the journal, noting he's managed to switch it to video and ignoring it. Doesn't matter, right?]
Hmm... it seems it simply refuses to recognize that I've dialed up the strength of the charge; it stays on stun.

Do you know what else he knows? That pain.]
My gun ain't workin', neither. It shoots paint now, and that kinda hurts, but that ain't gonna take nobody down.
[Audio]
It shoots... paint. Really.
[Audio]
[Audio]
No. I haven't. I've never even heard of it.

Winner's the last man standing, or if y'all're playin' with teams, the team that's got any people left on it.
[Audio] THEY TOTALLY HAVE LASER TAG IN ME. THIS IS MY HEADCANON.
[Audio] HOW COULD THEY NOT HAVE LASER TAG?
[Audio] THEY HAVE TO.

It is a little disconcerting. Especially considering that those of us that were born with special abilities can't use them as well as we normally could.
I don't know how they've managed it, but it's enough to make one feel rather uncomfortable.
[Audio]
At the very least, I should be able to figure out what they did to it, and reverse it.
[Audio]
If it's possible to reverse whatever they did to your weapon, then maybe that'll give the rest of us an idea on how to do the same.[Audio]
[Or as it should be.]
[text]
I figured as much. Nothing is ever easy here. I'd be glad if we could just figure out how to keep knives sharp.[audio]
